The Zygon Invasion Podcast/Al Ewing Interview

This week we've got a very special treat - a double length episode of the Series 9 Podcast in which I'm joined by comics writer Al Ewing, who co-wrote Titan Comics' Eleventh Doctor comic, and is currently doing Contest of Champions, The New Avengers, and The Ultimates for Marvel. The first hour consists of us talking about The Zygon Invasion, while the back half is a wide-ranging interview about comics and numerous other topics. Yes, you read that right. Our podcast this week is like... a hybrid.

You can grab that right here, and I really recommend you do.

The episode of Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe that Al mentions, incidentally, is available on YouTube here.

Fantastic interview guys, thanks. So informative and entertaining. Blimey, some of Al Ewing's pauses for thought where looooong though. Couple of times I checked to see if I'd lost connection. BTW The link to the Charlie Brooker screenwipe only links to the Pexlives page. Try this.

Good stuff, as are all Brooker's shows. I don't recall if you've covered Nathan Barley on the Eruditorum. As an example of a near future dystopia that proved horribly prescient it's well worth a look.

This link doesn't work (for me) either. Try this:

(I look forward to discovering in what unusual way I've messed up that link, and in what unusual way the poster after me will mess up their correction.)

I basically listened to this PodCast for the New Avengers (Squirrel Girl and Songbird are two of my favorite Marvel characters, and they're on a team together now), and I actually thought the little character captions were a Matt Fraction thing.

Loved the first two issues, and like that the author is able just cop to borrowing a technique from someone else. It's a good technique.
