Less concerned with who’s first up against the wall than with how to decorate it

Elizabeth Sandifer created Eruditorum Press. She’s not really sure why she did that, and she apologizes for the inconvenience. She currently writes Last War in Albion, a history of the magical war between Alan Moore and Grant Morrison. She used to write TARDIS Eruditorum, a history of Britain told through the lens of a ropey sci-fi series. She also wrote Neoreaction a Basilisk, writes comics these days, and has ADHD so will probably just randomly write some other shit sooner or later. Support Elizabeth on Patreon.

It's not a new idea but I do enjoy being able to support up and coming musical projects by passionate and exciting musicians who would not have thrived with the traditional record company based model but are able to sell their music online & get more of the money back into their own pockets. That may have something to do with my being a musician of course 🙂

I'm also very proud to have backed the Hartnell book which turned up on the same day as several Hartnell DVDs including the Beginning boxset. I have to admit I let out a squeal of delight. I had to check the calendar to make sure it wasn't christmas.

I'd just like to say thanks for the lovely object that is the TARDIS Eruditorum volume one that I received yesterday. (how exciting it is to see one's name in the acknowledgements in the foreword) It's a handsome volume and actually a weightier tome than I expected. My Kindle has made me quite forget how much room words on paper take up and weigh. I'm pleased that my small contribution enabled the alchemical creation of a reality from a virtuality.

Also I have to commend James' work on the cover. I knew it was good but seeing it in the flesh is so so impressive. Really adds to the appeal of the physical copy.

Agreed! I was similarly excited by seeing my name (and also several names familiar from the comments here). I read the entire list and I was overwhelmed by a sense of community and how much love was behind funding the book so I can only begin to imagine how Phil felt.

My weakness with support is education, especially to do with the arts. Let me just take a moment to put the phrase "Alameda Music Project" here in case anyone wishes to stumble upon it.

With the Guardians Of The Galaxy trailer been released (and it looks like fun), I'm going to give some money to Bill Mantlo's ongoing care, There's details on Greg Pak's page:
    http://gregpak.com/love-rocket-raccoon-please-consider-donating-to-writer-bill-mantlos-ongoing-care/

Also the Bill Finger tribute film on Kick Starter:

And going to Daisy Eris Campbell & John Higg's 'Is It Time To Pull The Cosmic Trigger?' tomorrow, may contribute to the crowd funding for that as well.

The sharing of public domain material. In my case, comic books, since that's what I have to share.

On a not unrelated note, the fight against whatever the next extension of copyright will be will get the full support I can give it. The failure of anything new to enter the public domain these days is abhorrent to me.

Things I support – Your work Phil (looking forwards to the book!), live music (especially local musicians in my scene) & live performance including storytelling and Amnesty. I also donate a certain amount of my storytelling work within the community for free, and the same for my outdoor education, arts & eco-therapy work with adults and children for free too.

Thanks muchly for the plug, Phil!

Well, I've been trying to get the word out about my friend (and cover designer) Viga, who after scholarships and government funding came up a few thousand short of what she needs to attend her dream school. She's selling her art/design services cheap via GoFundMe to try to raise the remainder.

Kiva.org Microloans – there are people all over the world that are a gnats wing away from self-sufficiency, they just need a little help to make the final step. It's not charity – it's a loan. They loan to people anywhere in the world, yes, including the USA.

Each loan for the user is just $25 (hence microloan) and lots of users microloans make up a sizable, useful amount. The loan is paid back over a fixed amount of time, and when you have your cash back you can either loan it out again or withdraw it. You pick who you loan to, reading what they intend to do with the loan, how long it will take to repay etc.

I've been doing this for a few years now: I have $240 in the system, and I've reloaned the money enough times now that I've effectively loaned $900. I can take my $240 out if I want: $0 cost to me and I've still helped people out the tune of $900 – awesome!

With any loan there is a risk: since 2005 Kiva.org has 99% of loans fully repayed. Personally, I have enjoyed 100%.

If you make a movie about Bill Finger you are legally required to credit Bob Kane as the "creator of Bill Finger."
