Elizabeth Sandifer created Eruditorum Press. She’s not really sure why she did that, and she apologizes for the inconvenience. She currently writes Last War in Albion, a history of the magical war between Alan Moore and Grant Morrison. She used to write TARDIS Eruditorum, a history of Britain told through the lens of a ropey sci-fi series. She also wrote Neoreaction a Basilisk, writes comics these days, and has ADHD so will probably just randomly write some other shit sooner or later. Support Elizabeth on Patreon.

Yeah, the whole idea that “she’s freakish big and freakish strong, and she’s a woman, so she must be hideous, right?” is…not great.

I can’t quite make up my mind whether it’s Slynt’s striking foresightfulness about the political future of the Watch here which is inconsistent with the overall portrayal of the character, or if his final downfall is. Either one can probably be squared with everything else, but it’s hard to accommodate both. Can the same person be that perceptive (even if it is about a subject that, as a weaselly greasy-pole-climbing bureaucratic hanger-on, he’s likely to think about a lot more than most) and quite that stupid?

Also, surely the Walkers’ eyes are blue, not purple? Maybe kind of a warm blue (ironically), but blue.

Incidentally, while I am as usual not equipped for watching the current season, I’m boggling at the fact that that’s the actual episode title. I start to wonder if that was a joke working title, and at some point someone said “You know what? Let’s just go with that!”, kind of like you would imagine had happened with Delta and the Bannermen, but in fact didn’t.

Oooh! Is “with” in the transitions, as opposed to “from”, a reference to overlapping dialogue? I remember the Littlefinger one using that. Also, am I right in thinking that this is a fairly new directorial device for the series? A bit odd if it is – you would think, given the attention they give to linking the transitions, and what an obvious device it is for that purpose, that it would either have been part of the “house style” from the outset or else specifically ruled out of it.
