Parts of the film strongly reminded me (in a good way) of John Frankenheimer’s “Seconds” (older person getting new lease of life via youthful transformation engineered by secret company) and Cronenberg’s version of “The Fly” (grotesque transformation; pulling out fingernails, teeth, etc).

The grimly hilarious Grand Guignol body-horror ending also reminded me of Brian Yuzna’s “Society.”
