Elizabeth Sandifer created Eruditorum Press. She’s not really sure why she did that, and she apologizes for the inconvenience. She currently writes Last War in Albion, a history of the magical war between Alan Moore and Grant Morrison. She used to write TARDIS Eruditorum, a history of Britain told through the lens of a ropey sci-fi series. She also wrote Neoreaction a Basilisk, writes comics these days, and has ADHD so will probably just randomly write some other shit sooner or later. Support Elizabeth on Patreon.

Doctor no more. A warrior is needed. This Christmas, I bring not peace, but a sword.

This sounds like a pile of fun. I'll have my laptop ready all Xmas vacation for those guest posts and throwing down scads of thoughts for Goodbye-Matt-Hello-Peter!

It's Christmas…but the moment has been prepared for.

Yule, my dear – and not a moment too soon! I'm currently taking a brief break from our Solstice party, which has been a success (though we cancelled the bonfire because it's very windy and rainy). We're having Christmas here at home with my brother-in-law and our new-old lodger – amazingly, my wife has Christmas Day off for the third year running!

I expect we'll be watching some Doctor Who at some point.

Intrigued as to the guest bloggers (enjoyed the last one/Lost one).

Open prezzies, be visited by my sister and her kids, eat the traditional veggy lasagne (a tradition I invented over a decade ago because I like veggy lasagne), watch Doctor Who.

Incidentally, I just remembered today about Paul Cornell's 12 Blogs of Christmas. And Day Two is "in part inspired by Philip Sandifer".

It's all about The Time of the Doctor isn't it? I'll be on the edge of the sofa full of veggie Xmas dinner waiting for Matt's last words and Peter's first. And of course whatever surprise Moffat has up his sleeve.

May I wish all my fellow Eruditoriumists a very merry festive season full of light and joyous celebration.

I'm taking some time off tonight to reflect on the Solstice, then I think I'll treat myself to some The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

After that I need to write more about "Once Upon A Planet", which has quickly become another post from hell, much to my chagrin. Star Trek is, of course, inescapable for me.

I'm celebrating Christmas with my family next week.

And sometime in between all of that I shall listen to more Miley Cyrus.

Adding a happy note: the bonfire got un-cancelled since the weather improved – yay! Party over now, though – kinda-sorta boo, but not really since Alison has to get up at 5AM for tomorrow's 12-hour shift.

What I'm mainly doing is frantically sending out review copies of my début e-novella, in the forlorn hope that positive reviews/copy will somehow get me to 100 pre-orders before the official release date of 25th January. Still, dare to dream, and all that… 🙂

Between Christmas and New Year's I'm going to Baltimore for the American Philosophical Association, because that's when in their wisdom they always hold it. (Though thanks to member complaints they're finally going to change it to the week after New Year's — they had an Epiphany, you might say — but that change won't take effect until year after next.)

Family gathering for Christmas, friends get-together the weekend after, Bad Movie New Year's Party, then Family Football Watching on New Year's Day.

As a disgracefully-late Big Finish adopter, I'll be playing catch-up between in-law stuff. Right now I'm listening to "Doctor Who & The Pirates" (which so far seems like the dessert form of Doctor Who) with "Davros," "Shadow of the Scourge," and "Love and War" on deck.

The in-laws don't have BBC America, so I'll be doing Time on iTunes at 5AM on the 26th.

I'm screwed. I'll be on the road when Time of the Doctor is airing, and won't be anywhere near a television (let alone my house) for a week or two after. There's storms forecast that day which frequently means power cuts – and my recorder won't know what time or day it is without being turned fully on again 🙁

Had a Solstice gathering with my partner and friends yesterday – a wee get together in our house first due to bad weather (heavy rain & wind, just like you elvwood) & my partner's sprained ankle. Then we led a community celebration with music, singing & food in a community vegetable garden.

Am taking time out today from work and the world – then Christmas day is a nice quiet time for my partner and I, where first we go to a Christmas party in our local village hall for all those folk who aren't seeing their family for whatever reason to share food and stories, etc. The we have a few days of relaxing at home – first with Time of the Doctor and then snugglin up with lots of movies!

    Main aim is to relax…
