Elizabeth Sandifer created Eruditorum Press. She’s not really sure why she did that, and she apologizes for the inconvenience. She currently writes Last War in Albion, a history of the magical war between Alan Moore and Grant Morrison. She used to write TARDIS Eruditorum, a history of Britain told through the lens of a ropey sci-fi series. She also wrote Neoreaction a Basilisk, writes comics these days, and has ADHD so will probably just randomly write some other shit sooner or later. Support Elizabeth on Patreon.

You know, if we’re voting on topics now it would be kind of an ideal scenario if you ever did an essay on Synecdoche, New York. My favourite blogger tackling my favourite film? It is a bit pie-in-the-sky, I know, but somewhere, maybe someday…

A film that references Cotard’s Syndrome in the name of its protagonist, of course…

I’m happy to have guessed the topic ahead of time, although I suppose the header image and access to the actual list of topics assisted me quite a bit in that regard :p

Does anyone have a key? 😛 Asking for a friend.

I really enjoyed the essay, despite not having a clue what it is about.

He was asking a question on Twitter a few days back that might be the answer.

Ah, a thing I’d never heard of before. This explains it.

Though honestly before I Googled it, taking the answer at face value without knowing there was a creative work with the same name gave the essay a very interesting punch to it XD…

Thank you for the hint! I would have never guessed that in a million years – he had been talking about writing about Blackstar, so I thought that’s what the title referred to. Now I really need to see that movie. I really like Charlie Kaufman’s other work (especially Eternal Sunshine) and am originally from near Schenectady.

I want to write about Blackstar, but I suspect I’m just jealous of Chris O’Leary.

I didn’t get it until the second last sentence, despite having read you say you were going to write about it

Also, realizing you’re already dead is way more interesting than it sounds. Seriously, if you realized you were already dead right now, wouldn’t that be the best? ‘Cause then this would be the afterlife, and you wouldn’t have to worry about dying anymore. Nice problem to have actually. So what would you be doing differently in your afterlife than you’re doing now?
