Elizabeth Sandifer created Eruditorum Press. She’s not really sure why she did that, and she apologizes for the inconvenience. She currently writes Last War in Albion, a history of the magical war between Alan Moore and Grant Morrison. She used to write TARDIS Eruditorum, a history of Britain told through the lens of a ropey sci-fi series. She also wrote Neoreaction a Basilisk, writes comics these days, and has ADHD so will probably just randomly write some other shit sooner or later. Support Elizabeth on Patreon.

    Sigh…

"Sadly, one does not expect Matt Smith to regenerate into a woman in response to being deemed unworthy…"

Are we still singing from the 'Boys are just defective Girls' hymn book. Really… Still…

Erm, no; we're combining my past support for a female Doctor with a Thor joke.

Okay…. just battling with a female-centric school system at the moment and being over sensitive to all things anti-boy. Comes from having four sons and seeing them being increasingly marginalised. Apologies.

Must admit my biggest problem with 11thDW#14 is that it's boring!

What is this 'education is anti-boy' nonsense?

I don't know if your being sarcastically funny, or serious. Ah, the joys of text only communication. And I don't think Phil really wants this discussion here. I apologise again for jumping on your comment the way I did without taking into account context.

I'll just say that I'm the mum of four boys (5, 13, 17, & 21) and work as a teacher's aide in a large public school, assisting the disabled students (mental and physical) who are able to participate in mainstream education. I sit in the classroom among the students and supervise them at recess and lunch; in fifteen years in the job I know what I've seen in the way the system is structured, the way male and female students are treated, how they interact with each other, and the results.

    I stand by my assertion.

"It is a well-known fact that boys do better in mixed-sex schools, while girls do better in single-sex schools. The solution is simple: educate all boys in mixed-sex schools and all girls in single-sex schools."

Desdemona, I'm sorry you have had this to deal with. In many places the opposite problem holds; neither should be acceptable.
