Drunken Whocast 2
Yes, the Drunken Whocast returns. It is now, undeniably, a regular thing. Some guys – Jack, Kit, and Daniel this time – in varying and progressing stages of shitfacedness, talking far too much about Doctor Who.
This time, your arseholed hosts talk Series 2 (2006). And other things (this was recorded before the election).
As before, you’re getting this almost entirely unexpurgated. We’ve removed only some dull pauses, some bathroom breaks, one or two jokes that were a tad too off-colour upon sobre reflection, and one instance of vicious slander.
Stick with it – I’m told hour 4 is the best.
As often happens, people who sponsor me on Patreon heard this ages ago. (I don’t thank my sponsors at the end of Drunken Whocasts as it seems wrong somehow, almost as if I were insulting them, but they all get namechecked at the end of regular shabcasts, as long as I have time to record that bit.)

Where might I find the first Drunken Whocast? This one is hilarious, but I’m having a hell of a time figuring out where to get it…

If I remember correctly, it’s listed on the Pex Lives site as Shabcast 30.

Awesome! Thank you. I guess I didn’t realize it’d be categorized that way. Downloading now!

That was epic. I nearly suffocated trying to contain my laughter on a bus when Daniel was talking about Ann Coulter.
As was the case with Boom Town in Drunken Whocast 1, I’m overjoyed to see some Love & Monsters love. And thanks to Daniel’s defense of it, I think I will rewatch Fear Her soon.
Is it too early to get excited about Drunken Whocast 3? And Drunken Torchcast?

Thank you Jack for the Don Warrington mention. I used to dream of him becoming the Doctor in the 80s and it’s nice to think I wasn’t entirely alone

Hey boys,
Really enjoying this epic drunken ramblecast, a suitable rebuke to the increasingly ‘professional’ and ‘polished’ blandness infecting the podcast form. What initially made podcasting good was precisely that distance from the mainstream predictability of the entertainment commodity form.
Also, my candidate for least wankable Who ep is one you mentioned in this very podcast – the resolutely anti-erotic Girl in the Fireplace. I mean, could you? Could you really? I know shame and self–reproach can act as a libidinal trigger but fuck me, there are limits…
Cheers!

Hm, reading back that comment, I see it has an unsavoury connotation that I certainly didn’t intend….Just to be clear – The preening self-regard of the Doctor, the general air of smuggery, the fawning, the overall ickiness of the ‘romantic’ element, plus Rose being sidelined in a fairly crappy way – those are things that make the story, for me, far too annoying for any erotic potential. It would feel like validating the episode’s already maatubatory tone. Clarification complete. Good morning.
