    Wonderful piece.

    I think–as Nana Visitor alludes to–a lot of the complaint about Intendant Kira's portrayal has to do with later episodes, where like everything else about the Mirror Universe she decays into a cartoon caricature of herself, and part of that is becoming a pretty straightforward instance of the "depraved bisexual" cliche.

    I do love that Miles O'Brien is the unchangeable point across universes. STO plays with this in a (sadly, now deleted) episode in which we learn that "Smiley" named his ship the Molly.
