Elizabeth Sandifer

Elizabeth Sandifer created Eruditorum Press. She’s not really sure why she did that, and she apologizes for the inconvenience. She currently writes Last War in Albion, a history of the magical war between Alan Moore and Grant Morrison. She used to write TARDIS Eruditorum, a history of Britain told through the lens of a ropey sci-fi series. She also wrote Neoreaction a Basilisk, writes comics these days, and has ADHD so will probably just randomly write some other shit sooner or later. Support Elizabeth on Patreon.

Just to clear up something … the references to Qqaba in "The Infinity Doctors" is reference to the strips quoted above? I'd previously assumed that name was created by Lance Parkin in the novel, as a variant of "Q Star" or whatever term was used in Barf of Infinity.

Qqaba is from the comics, yes. I think Parkin managed to cram in references to just about every depiction of Gallifrey in any medium ever in Infinity Doctors.

Pedantic caption correction: Len Wein (and Dave Cockrum) created Colossus, not Chris Claremont.

“that that evening I threw mother an extra lump of raw meat and agreed to consider putting a couple of extra links in her chair.”

I think "chair" should be "chain".

I think the caption you wanted for "GRIT" was "Dog carcass in alley this morning, tire tread on burst stomach. The city is afraid of me. I can't see its true face."

So they couldn't use Tom Baker but they could reference "Gallifreyans"?

it is difficult to argue that Moore’s stock was rapidly rising over the course of 1983

But that's what you've just been doing. I think you mean it's difficult to argue that it wasn't?

They probably just thought it would be more relevant to Daredevils to have a Captain Britain character playing the role of Tharrg. I remember reading somewhere that when DWM itself reprinted one of these stories in the late eighties, they drew Sylv's face over Tom's.

It was a subtle allusion to Battlefield. In advance. Because timey-wimey.

Fixed this, the Colossus credit, and Rodericks' pedantry below. Thanks to all.
