I know this comment will only be seen by Phil or whatever other coward is deleting my comments. I guess an open exchange and a dialogue is something you’re not even interested in, so I’ll fuck off like you want me to. But know this: shutting us down only makes us stronger, and this is why we’re winning. Because you won’t even allow the debate. Keep up the good work campaigning for Trump 2020.

Eh. I’ll leave this one, just because I haven’t made the moderation policy explicit post-election.

First of all, as usual for a fascist troll (and that’s all Ivanka is – their deleted comments consisted of nothing save for the most banal right-wing talking points, including both “Islamophobia isn’t a thing” and “BLM is a terrorist organization”), you’re a lying sack of shit. There is no meaningful sense in which the political ideology of the President Elect of the United States can possibly be “shut down.” There’s a vast number of places in which “the debate” can be and is had. This is self-evident.

Eruditorum Press, however, is not one of those places. It is an internal discussion of the left. It’s a publicly visible one, but it is nevertheless a site that is of and for the left. Comments which do not contribute to that discussion are likely to be removed. Yours didn’t. Simple as that.

      Now fuck off.

On a completely different note, this is my favorite in the series so far. Well done.

Lately I’ve been thinking about which is a more effective form of political activism, assassination or self immolation.

Either way, that would preempt inauguration coverage, which itself would be a noble and delightful outcome.

A while back I believe I came across a link on Tumblr, describing the state of America right now as ‘post-Fascism’… I can’t find the article right now so I might be mangling some of its points, but the thing that stuck with me is this.

When a bigot get into power here, he don’t need to gas whatever minority’s been press-ganged into being the rest of the country’s punching bag. He doesn’t need to shoot them. He doesn’t even need to move them. The way America’s arranged right now, very few parts of the country are self-sufficient in any meaningful sense; if you want a part gone, all you have to do is convince the rest of the country to not care about it, and all the infrastructure and support will wither on its own.

This, I believe, is the blow “White Flight” was meant to strike at Black communities across the nation. It is also conveniently a form of mass-murder that sits reasonably well with the morality of conservatives, and even some liberals. No matter how we wish it were so, the man who walks by a shooting victim without a backward glance will never be condemned as harshly as the man who shot in the first place. The idea that apathy and inaction can be weaponized is still a foreign one…
