    The Blakean weirdness gives me a lot of feels, certainly, but I wouldn't say it's why I like the show.

    I like the show because I like Hannibal as an aspirational figure.

    I've recently started watching the show and I often wonder if they cast Scott Thompson as special agent Jimmy Price as a nod to Chris Elliot playing a forensic expert in Manhunter.

    Well they have cast the same guy who played Thorin Oakenshield in The Hobbit trilogy as Francis Dolarhyde, so I suspect some element of cheekiness in their casting practices.
