I love your posts on the comics. I've got that excellent DVD-Rom collection, and I wade through it from time to time. There's so much stuff, it's great to have some recommendations of what to look at (and what not to look at). I've already made my way about halfway through the first volume of DC's TNG, and it's a lot of fun. Also, it's a kick reading the letters page and the comments from the writers/editors. It's very interesting reading their perspective on TNG as it unfolds on tv.

"And both Randy and McRobb's stories are heartwarming examples of the utopian conflict resolution Star Trek: The Next Generation is so uniquely suited to displaying (especially as both go on to be reoccurring characters), and that the current TV writers on balance have no clue how to write."

I've never read these comics, I think I did maybe read some of TOS comics as a kid though. This sounds like brilliant writing regarding the side characters. Yes, real shame about the plot for Geordie, doesn't sound great at all.

Enjoying hearing about these comics, as it's likely I won't get around to reading them as I have an ever increasing reading list! But enjoying these essays.
